MSS 上的ATM中继（Trunk）是ATM网络上节点间的逻辑连接，是建立在物理连接之上。ATM中继（Trunk）支持DPRS，可以承载帧中继（Frame Relay）业务。通常ATM中继（Trunk）是ATM 接口下一条VC电路。在Nortel MSS ATM网络内，ATM接口设定为PNNI.而与其它网络连接时，ATM接口设定为IISP.其中VCI和VPI的值时可以随意设定，只要是在允许范围之内。
